Olympic Diving Pool Turns Green, Talk of Dank Water

RIO DE JANEIRO—Like St. Patty’s Day on the Chicago River, the Olympic diving pool in Rio turned a troubling yet gorgeous emerald green in the wee hours last night. Pool expert Kevin Post told the Business Insider, “Everything affects pH. Swimmers getting in and out of the water, if they peed in the water, dust that goes in the water.” But Dartmouth swim team captain Nellie Hayes has a different explanation. “Swimmers, divers and water polo players are all notorious burners,” says Hayes. “It’s my guess they’re using the Same Day Cleanse Kit and their detoxed perspiration is reacting with chlorine to produce that lovely shade we like to call THC.”
